I am/was a "priest". A few years ago, all the priest were called to Maine for a mandatory meeting. One of the things on our agenda was the issue of tithing. Or maybe better put, the issue of people not tithing. In the meeting, it was said by Garry, that if ever audited, people in the "family" would most likely go to jail.
As things unfolded that day, we were given a brake down of where all the money from tithe was going. I don't recall the exact brake down, but I do know that 75% off all tithe goes to NERT. Some Supper Clans pay 20% tithe, and in there case the additional 10% goes entirely into NERT.
We were then asked to come up with a way to try and convince the people in the "family" to start paying tithe again. The solution was to tell the family to revue a teaching from Jack Hickman that was about tithing. The reason was that, people would hear the mans voice and become compelled to listen. Those who lead the discussion did bring up that this would only be a temporary fix, but it would at least get the cash flowing until a more permanent solution was found.
In short, They wanted to use Jack's words to manipulate people into paying up.
What I am bothered by, is that people in the "family" are clearly profiting off of the "family". The family involved with NERT has made that their lively hood, the funding's coming from us. And NERT is only one example of people profiting off of tithe and the "family"
Footnote, I will not refer to Jack Hickman as Abba, I refuse to honer him with the same title I use for my father.
Absolutely. The family "members" who tithe are certainly supporting the lifestyles of those who have made this cult their "job." As I said in my previous post (under the Unifying Meditation Institute headline), many Maine family members are now paying "tithe" to bonified charities such as the Salvation Army or UNICEF. My personal favorite: the ASPCA. :)
ReplyDeleteThe sad reality is that those still tithing to NERT or UMI see nothing wrong it. Infact, they see it as their duty. They do not care if this money goes to G to support his lazt ass or to other leadership. I say, "Wake up, people!" This "tithing" thing has NOTHING to do with religion and everything to do with continuing to reach in your pockets and get what they can get. Wake up!
Remember: Annual family meeting dates-
ReplyDelete"LEADERSHIP"
January 14th, 2012 at the Hampton Inn South Portland Airport location from 4-8pm
"ALL FAMILY MEMBERS"
January 15th, 2012 same location from 9:30-4.
Come one, come all!!
... and oh yes, "tithing (lack of)" is on the agenda!
ReplyDeleteAs I'm sure is internet use, and punishments for blog posting... shit, hellfire and damnation!
ReplyDeleteYou do know the internet and information are all the work of the left side. By the by, we have mojito and salsa music over here on the left.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting for Newsday to send a reporter to the Jan 14-15 Portland meeting to do a 30 year update report, on the CULT that is still a CULT, despite Newday's very thorough investigative report that you have all seen as The Foibles of Abba article originally published in Newsday's Newspaper.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fascinating, for those of you who attend on January 14, to demand to see the financial records of the CULT, for the past 30 years. "Blame your questions" on the blog postings. But start asking.
This meeting is actually a great opportunity for you to stir things up.
Ask them about the money.
Ask who and how does Goon and Vans and everyone at the top get paid, not just now, but for the past 30 years.
Maybe invite the local Augusta newspapers to attend a session. Transparency. Clean Clear Answers with Paper trails.
If you have supported a non profit, you are entitled (even if you haven't supported it) to see the books. The audited records. Continue to follow the money, and the fact that the Newsday Article was proven true.
JH explained it in his little meetings at his house that day. All day long, with an un eaten sandwich on a plate next to him. His explanation of why he passed seed.
Your parents all remember if they had the guts to even go isten to JH that day. What is shocking, is that there are people still in the CULT that would not/ did not read or talk about the article.
Sometimes you need to have blinders on to stay in a cult.
Ironically, the cult did and still does have many nice people in it. But the management, the money, the hierarchy, the people who get to go to the doomsday bunkers.....why isn't it all of you?
Is that why Colorado has to move to Maine? Is that going over well? Why support a UMI in Colorado, if everyone is moving to die....oh live, if you get selected to be in a bunker, in Maine?
Are these prophecies written down so that someone can post them?

ReplyDeleteas a priest, have you ever heard teachings regarding the "passing of the seed"? Is this something that was talked about at all? Were you ever sent to spend time at Jack and Gary's house in CO like many of the priests were?
Long lost bro,
ReplyDeleteI am curious as to willow's question. How did the seed passing get justified. Are people still passing seed? Is mutual masturbation still practiced? These are questions that you shuld all raise at the Leadership meeting. what would happen if you did? What has been explained to you in your position?
Ex~ I don't have all the answers to the passing of the seed question. But quoting my "Well it was a spiritual act". How wrong is that?
ReplyDeleteIt is bizarre.
