Freckle Face said...

This was My response... from my blog butseriouslybaby@blogspot.com... just in case people are unsure of who the blog author is.

The directions were not from this blog, no one has ever posted directions here. I have deleted no comments except one that used specific names. One person that was the blocked from the other blog,(I know why because I asked the writer of blog), specifically attacked a rape victim verbally about the crime. That is inexcusable. The other person blocked was verbally attacking "the Family" and making some militant comments. So you see, people who use either site and show signs of overt aggression, have been deleted. It shows that we do use discretion about what is posted, but again, you are referring to another blog and should post your concerns there. [I have done this for them]

I have a disclaimer at the bottom of my page, and have had this same disclaimer since I started my blog (which, BTW, was while I was STILL in the group. I started this blog for myself to write my own thoughts, a long time ago).

You ask if adults specifically, were aware of the abuse? Yes, Ricky was aware and said nothing. The Elder at the time of my sister's rape was aware and helped to "mediate" between my father and the father of the boys who gang raped my sister. I still don't really know how you "mediate" a rape, but I guess they did. It was all swept under the table. Did the elders know about a girl who was beaten in her home so much that she had to leave and put herself in foster care, yes they did. And they did then what they are doing here now... the tactics. We were problem children. We were just a small few, loud-mouth, disobedient, "bitter bitter girl[s]".

Jack, Abba, even told my mother once that we as children should not sleep over at Pnina's house because it wasn't a safe situation. He couldn't guarantee our safety if we slept there.

They knew.

Look, my point, whether people believe it or not, is to just get the information out there. I had never heard the Foibles Article and I wished that someone had told me about it a long time ago. So what information do I have to get out there? Stories. People's personal histories with this group. That's the information that I have. If other victims want to come out and tell their own stories, that is up to them. That is not for me to share. If there were more concrete facts and evidence, people would be arrested. So yes, as people like to continually point out, if a "crime" was committed, then I am obligated to report it to the proper authorities as a mandated reporter. But if other people's information is like my own, it's been swept far under the table, so far it's hard for anyone to find, and harder still for anyone to prove.

You are placing a burden of proof at [our] feet. Thank you for thinking I have such a long reach and such large shoulders. But that task of proof, acquiring hard evidence, against this group that has been operational for longer than I've been alive, is beyond the smallness of myself. Therefore I am left with the "soft" evidence.

I never said anyone had to believe me. I didn't ask you to read my blog and believe me and take my side. I have only ever said that this is what I think, what I've experienced, what my fears are. I'm only encouraging people to think for themselves and make their own decision.

If your decision is to stay, then that is your decision. I'm not going to try to change your mind. There are many really nice families. No one knows what happens inside a family except the people in it. If this is your experience and you gain some kind of uplifting experience by remaining apart of it, and no sinister or manipulative tactics have been used against you to do things you would not otherwise have done, then please, continue on.
